We are seeking a skilled and motivated Assistant Quality Supervisor to join our team and play a key role in auditing of standard operating procedures to ensure standardized methods are being used by all production employees. The qualified candidate will also be responsible for the quality of products produced at Masters Gallery Foods including, but not limited to, ensuring that all quality standards and guidelines are met for all finished goods.

  • Oversee quality of finished product.
  • Troubleshoot daily line quality issues.
  • Perform audits on quality Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), production SOPs, facility, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Assist with updating forms in Alchemy.
  • Perform positive release on all finished goods.
  • Coordinate extended run swabbing schedule and monitor results.
  • Sign off new hires on quality checks and SOP verifications.
  • Perform finished goods and bulk coolers, dry storage, cutting rooms, production rooms, and pack off rooms inspections.
  • Manage shelf-life inspections and shelf-life disposals.
  • Perform product audits on high-risk areas and length of time product is on the production floor.
  • Ensure non-conforming products are isolated and monitor the hold log daily. Enter dispositions for holds.
  • Verify safety holds and signoff in ERP and RedZone.
  • Audit production equipment and facility. Enter work orders into Maintenance Connection.
  • Participate in quarterly Glass and Hard Plastic Audits.
  • Perform ATP, Environmental, Uniform/Shoe, and Sanitation swabbing. Assist with lab testing as needed.
  • Assist with corrective action plans for out of spec quality systems such as sanitation swabs, ATP swabs, environmental program, foreign material, or any food safety risks. Notify management of any trends.
  • Present and train quality related material to Quality, Production and Sanitation personnel at monthly meetings.
  • Assist with verification and calibration program on production equipment and update the matrix as needed.
  • Train and instruct Quality personnel on the proper use of reference materials and equipment / instruments to determine product compliance, completion, and distribution of proper forms and worksheets.
  • Lead and/or assist as the Quality representative for Continuous Improvement projects.
  • Consistent and reliable attendance to maintain adequate staffing levels and meet customer commitments is required.
  • Assist with customer complaint investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide backup to the Quality Supervisor duties as needed.
  • Assist in EHS and root cause analysis for safety related events.
  • Assist Quality Supervisor with managing employee scheduling in UKG Pro.
  • Provide back up for Quality Tester and Quality Technicians on an as needed basis. Assist Quality Lab Technicians with swabbing and testing as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager, Director of Quality Systems, Vice President of Food Safety and Quality Systems, or Manufacturing Management.

Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Associate Degree in Food Science, Quality, or equivalent experience.
  • Two years of quality or internal auditing experience in a food manufacturing environment. Continuous Improvement experience required. Lean Six Sigma experience preferred.
  • Ability to act as a direct liaison between general production and management regarding quality issues.
  • Knowledge of the ERP computer system, RedZone, Alchemy, Microsoft Office & Microsoft Outlook products.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to assess quality and firm decision making.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Hours/Employment Type: Full Time
