As Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks. Performance of building maintenance tasks in one or more fields (e.g., carpentry; electrical; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC);plumbing, etc.) Testing of the alarm system monthly and weekly fire-riser inspections.
How You Will Contribute to our Legacy of Excellence:
- Inspect buildings and other structures to determine functional systems. Detect malfunctions and needed repair by making notes and recommendations using a CMMS system.
- Perform minor electrical maintenance which include but are not limited to the replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g., wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools.
- Perform minor plumbing maintenance (e.g., replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, trenching and laying new lines, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices, etc.).
- Prepare surfaces and paint various structures and equipment (e.g., walls, refrigerators, evaporative coolers, floors, roofs, doors, restroom facilities, etc.) to preserve wood and metal parts from corrosion.
- Perform minor carpentry and masonry work.
- Reconfigure, install, position, and remount modular offices and space (e.g., furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, file cabinets, etc.) to accommodate user needs and maximize office space using various hand, power and specialty tools, dollies and hand trucks.
- Order parts and maintain required documents.
- Consistent and reliable attendance to maintain adequate staffing levels and meet customer commitments is required.
- General cleaning of a facility maintenance or repair nature.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Manager, and/or the Facilities Superintendent.
Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years working experience in a maintenance role. Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry is required.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and fluently understand English.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be customer service oriented.
- Ability to meet or exceed the Company’s attendance and punctuality standards.
- Ability to evaluate objectively, fairly, and consistently.
- Ability to use common tools.
- Ability to understand and follow directions as given.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to climb a ladder and step ladder.
- Ability to bend at the waist, sit, kneel, lay horizontally, climb, walk, etc., as job may require.
- Ability to maintain a safe, comfortable working environment using various painting equipment and related tools for project completion.
- Must be able to work flexible hours.
Hours/Employment Type: Full Time. 3rd Shift (Monday - Friday) 10PM-6AM.
