We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Assistant to support our finance team in reconciliation and balancing of bulk and co-pack inventories, fixed assets, daily cash balancing, and other financial tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a keen eye for accuracy in financial data management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain records for fixed assets and projects in process accounts. Post monthly depreciation for all assets.
- Bulk inventory roll forward with reconciliation. Post all related journal entries.
- Daily cash balancing of debits.
- Responsible for safeguarding, disbursing and recording the petty cash account. Provide monthly reconciliation of all three locations.
- Inventory reserve tracking and related journal entries.
- Prepare monthly borrowing base for bank.
- Co-pack inventory tracking and updating. Monthly reconciliation and confirmation of inventory at co-pack location.
- Maintain cheese store tracking sheet and make monthly journal entries.
- Maintain and reconcile medical payments and enter monthly journal entries to appropriate accounts.
- Provide backup assistance with debit and credit approvals.
- Provide necessary reports to management and auditors.
- Performs other support functions as requested by the Chief Financial Officer, Director of Corporate Finance, or Financial Accounting Manager.
Experience, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting is preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of accounting or equivalent experience and understanding of accounting principles is required.
- Requires a high level of confidentiality.
- Must have good mathematical and analytical skills, problem solving ability and accuracy.
- Good typing ability and proficient use of calculator.
- Knowledge of the IBMi computer system, and high level of Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
