From your PASSION to ours:
Laboratory team members work in Quality Assurance laboratory performing physical and microbiological testing on raw materials, work in process, and finished goods. Candidate must be able to work over 40 hours per week (weekends are required).

From your EXPERTISE to ours:
Key responsibilities for this position include:
· Must collect samples as needed and test in the time required and analyze and record the results accurately
· Must aseptically collect samples of multiple types, test in the time required, and analyze and record the results accurately
· Learn how to accurately use all equipment needed to efficiently perform required lab tests
· Must always maintain quality and food safety policies and procedures
· Maintain strong communication skills to ensure that corrective actions are achieved if there are issues in other departments, with other employees, and finished product if it does not fall in the required specifications
· Maintain clean and organized work area
· Interact with associates while collecting samples
· Maintain open line of communication with Lead and Assistant manager
· Report problems and/or concerns to the on-duty supervisor
· Attend departmental meetings and training as assigned by the Lead and Assistant manager
· Comply with Lactalis policies and procedures
· Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Lead and Assistant manager / quality manager

Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

From your STORY to ours:

Candidate must have the following attributes/skills; strong attention to detail and accuracy, strong communication skills, written and verbal, personal qualities of tact and dependability, possess good manual dexterity, vision abilities (close, distance color and ability to focus), able to carry at least 30 pounds continuously and 50 pounds occasionally, be able to stand for entire shift, be able to perform repetitive movements (e.g. twisting, gripping, lifting, bending, reaching).

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:
Education:
· Bachelors degree in Dairy Science/Food science or Microbiology preferred

Experience:
· 2-5-year preferred experience in laboratory analysis in the dairy or food industry preferred
· Food industry and analytical testing is preferred
· Hands on microbiology/lab experience preferred

Specialized Knowledge:
· Specialized understanding of microbiology and chemistry
· Good analytical and mathematical skills

Skills/Abilities
· Attention to detail and accuracy in work required
· Personal qualities of tack and dependability and ability to work well with others required
· Strong communication abilities, written and verbal
· Knowledge of computer software required

Food Safety and Quality:
· Alert supervisor /manager when there is a deviation from food safety policies and standards.
· Apply the Good Manufacturing Practices to contribute to the maintenance of the FSSC 22000 standard
· Prevent contamination of ingredients, non-finished and finished goods, and equipment.
· High-level attention to hygiene and product quality to meet customers' needs and satisfaction.

Salary: $25.75/hour
