Job Title: Plumbing Mechanical Piping Detailer

Description:

  • Design the installation of plumbing and HVAC piping systems in Revit.
  • Collaborate with Engineers, Project Managers and Field Foreman to provide design solutions and assist in scheduling and execution of the work.
  • Support plumbing and HVAC pipe design effort for mechanical piping systems, create spools sheets for shop fabrication and create installation drawings for field installation.
  • Generate cut sheets, cut files and material reports for shop execution of plumbing and mechanical piping prefabrication.
  • Order material, schedule deliveries and coordinate project deadlines with the shop and field Foreman.
  • Program shop CNC pipe profiling machine (HGG), create cut lists and material lists for projects.
  • Create weld maps, document changes and file documentation and drawings in project folders.
  • Attend and lead coordination and clash detection meetings.
  • Layout and dimensioning of equipment locations, plumbing, piping, and support systems. Coordinate systems to eliminate interferences.
  • Assist in developing standards for BIM and its use within planning, estimating and operations to stream-line process and methods.
  • Support and maintain a safe and Lean work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Wisconsin State licensed Journeyman Plumber with 5+ years field experience required.
  • Plumbing, mechanical piping design and coordination experience using Revit and Navisworks preferred.
  • Knowledge of building code requirements, best plumbing, and mechanical piping practices.
  • Strong understanding of shop fabrication practices, tools and pipe joining methods.
  • Strong understanding and ability to learn 3D drafting and design programs fluently (Revit, AutoCad, Navisworks, MSuite Bim, Fabrication MEP)
  • Ability to read and understand contract documents, drawings, P&ID’s, and project specifications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Self-motivated, ability to work independently as well as with a team.
