Job Title: Procurement Coordinator

Description: As the Procurement Coordinator, you'll be responsible for coordinating activities regarding bulk cheese inventory produced at approved vendors, including but not limited to purchasing order issuance, order entry, customer/vendor relations, logistics/delivery troubleshooting, and drop shipment purchases. Will be assisting in the management of conversion bulk programs. Also responsible for supporting operations by handling order requests and sourcing items through approved vendors.

  • Serve as liaison on approved vendors' bulk cheese inventory between Procurement, Industrial Sales, and Operations.
  • Issue purchase orders for all inbound cheese based on the Procurement Manager - Operation's direction.
  • Run the bulk sheet daily and identify/address any concerns that may be present.
  • Monitor open bulk sale orders, assist with the procuring and allocation of the required items.
  • Purchase items for Operations as requests are received from internal parties or provided to them via vendor-managed programs.
  • Manage conversion bulk programs.
  • Perform miscellaneous projects as requested by the Procurement Manager - Operations, or other
  • Procurement department members.
  • Act as a backup for various Procurement Department personnel.
  • Maintain internal contact with the Procurement Department on bulk cheese requirements, inventory position, and strategies.
  • Maintain internal contact with Industrial Sales and Production Operations.
  • Assist in sourcing items at the lowest cost that is requested by Operations.

Experience, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or a related area or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in Purchasing, Sales, Supply Chain, or Operations, preferably in the cheese industry.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and accuracy.
  • Thorough knowledge of customers, products, vendors, product quality, and Masters Gallery Foods production capabilities and pricing.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent external and internal customer service skills.
  • Excellent business acumen skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of cheese quality and attributes.
  • Ability to coordinate the activities of other procurement and sales personnel.
  • Knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft Office and Outlook products.
  • Ability to create and run required reports in Microsoft Excel.
  • Good typing/data entry skills.
  • Ability to source products needed for operations.
