We are seeking a Pilot Plant Technician II to join our team and support pilot plant operations, contributing to the creation of new and improved products.
In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining various pilot plant equipment for projects that support our R&D efforts. You will also support experimental and production runs, ensuring a safe working environment and compliance with state and federal regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating dairy processing equipment and maintaining high-quality standards in a dynamic, hands-on environment.
Experience, Skills and Abilities:
What you need to be considered for the role:
- High School Degree or GED required.
- Minimum of five (5) years related experience within the dairy industry required (or minimum of three (3) years related experience in the dairy industry with an Associates Degree).
- Strong knowledge and understanding of dairy processing equipment, cheese making and/or whey processing.
- Basic understanding of dairy chemistry and laboratory procedures.
- Ability to operate dairy plant equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong analytical, math, and computer skills (Microsoft Office).
- Wisconsin Cheesemaker's License.
- Pasteurizer Operator Certification.
- Wisconsin Driver's License.
- Forklift Certification.
Preferred:
- 2 Year / Associate Degree in Food Science, Microbiology or other related field preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Some leadership experience is preferred.
