Sign Up Now to Volunteer at 2020 World Championship Cheese Contest
Sign up now to support the 2020 World Championship Cheese Contest, set for March 3-5 in Madison, Wisconsin. The Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA), host of the biennial competition, notes volunteers are needed to prepare Contest entries and assist judges as they evaluate thousands of dairy products, including cheese, butter, yogurt, and dry dairy ingredients.
“Volunteering at the Contest is a great way to reconnect with industry friends and colleagues, experience new products, and gain behind-the-scenes knowledge of how the Contest runs,” said Kirsten Strohmenger, WCMA Events Manager. “We’re grateful for all the help we receive from volunteers as the Contest continues to grow each year.”
WCMA seeks volunteers for entry check-in at the WOW Logistics warehouse in Little Chute, Wisconsin February 27 and 28 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Volunteers are also needed during the judging portion of the Contest at the Monona Terrace Convention Center in Madison, March 3 and 4 from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and March 5 from 7:30 a.m. to 12 noon.
Contest volunteers are affectionately known as the “B-Team,” as a tribute to long-time Contest Committee Chair Brian Eggebrecht. “B-Team” members are welcome to a complimentary light breakfast and buffet lunch during their shifts and will be given an official “B-Team” baseball cap and year pin in appreciation of their efforts.
