Description: The Plant Senior Maintenance Technician is responsible for the care and maintenance of all property and production assets in safe, sanitary and efficient conditions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Repair and replace defective equipment parts.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment and infrastructure.
• Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions.
• Assemble, install, or repair wiring and electrical components, including: 120VAC Utility Circuits, 480VAC Equipment Circuits, 24VDC Electronic Circuits.
• Repair and install basic pipe systems and plumbing (threaded and non-welded).
• Repair and replace boiler and steam line components.
• Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing maintenance requirements (both planned and unplanned) on production, packaging, processing equipment, and utility systems (to provide a continuous supply of heat, steam, cooling, electrical, power, gas, or air required for operations).
• Readily available for emergency repairs in breakdown situations
• Line manufacturing support systems (chemical delivery, ingredient delivery)
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
• Follow all required work safe practices. This includes lockout-tagout requirements and wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.

Experience, Skills and Abilities:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Certification from Vocational School; associated degree in industrial/mechanical technology
• 5+ years minimum experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing facility, preferably food industry
• 5+ year minimum experience with one or more technical experiences: Electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, computer-controlled equipment, PLC and HVAC
• Ability to inspect equipment, recognize potential problems and independently take appropriate corrective action to prevent component failures or equipment down time.
• Must be able to stand, walk, kneel and bend required for virtually the entire shift. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Experience in Project planning and scheduling vendor services.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and holidays.
• Be able to effectively work in a team environment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with basic equipment components and tools (Basic Electrical, Pneumatics, 3ph motors/VFDs, Pumps, Steam Systems, Electric and Hand Tools).
• Familiarity with food/dairy processing equipment (HTST, Separator, Heat Exchangers)

Hours/Employment Type: The Senior Maintenance Mechanic will work Monday – Friday, 5:00am – 1:00pm and be classified as a non-exempt employee. This individual must be willing to work weekends at times as well as Holidays, as required, based on production needs. At least one evening shift a week for after production maintenance. 

Salary/Wages: $35/hour
