WCMA Announces November Webinar Focused on Internships
Join the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA) November 16 for an exclusive, free webinar focused on building an effective, dynamic internship program. Registration is now open.
On Tuesday, November 16 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. (CT), WCMA staff will lead an engaging agenda featuring two speakers whose experience covers both internship development and dairy processing:
- Timothy Strait, PhD and Coordinator of the Wisconsin Internship Initiative at the state’s Department of Workforce Development, will discuss the benefits and expectations of internships and share available resources to help WCMA members get started.
- Jill Swanson, Human Resources Talent Partner at WCMA member Grande Cheese Company, will deliver valuable insights and suggestions for creating a successful internship program that benefits both participants and businesses.
“Filling positions in dairy processing is extraordinarily challenging right now,” WCMA Executive Director John Umhoefer stated. “An engaging internship program is a proven strategy to help employers connect with the emerging workforce. We look forward to sharing tips for members who are looking to improve their existing internship programs or establish new ones.”
The November webinar will also include time for a question-and-answer session with presenters. Members who prefer to submit questions anonymously may send them to WCMA Senior Director of Programs & Policy Rebekah Sweeney by close of business on Monday, November 15.
This offering is the latest in WCMA’s monthly webinar series, announced in September. In each session, members will have access to up-to-date information, expert analysis, and industry insights – all at no cost. Webinar topics will be determined based on WCMA member feedback and will cover a range of themes such as business development, communication strategies, and industry resources.
